Well ok, maybe not, as still a cool breeze blowing through this late April sunny day. Flower beds in Brodick looking stunning as always, the 'Caledonian Isles' just berthing and one of her Majesty's fleet getting as close as any I've spotted around Arran. A lovely sight.

After the beating that Scotland has endured since the start of 2015, this mornings blue skies and sunshine must have been welcomed with a huge smile from Arran Islanders north and south, and all points in between. To compliment this day, our icing on the proverbial cake arrived dramatically overnight, with a coating of snow on the major peaks. On the wall of the bridge at the top of the String road, the untouched flakes combine to measure some four or five inches in depth.

We are following our friends @OldPostcards on Twitter, and when they posted one of these evocative cards of Arran I thought what a lovely feature they would make on our blog. So, with their permission here are a few of the ones they have on offer and you can see more here.
